Why should I hire LG Home Comfort?

We know that you have many options when choosing an HVAC company. Like most other companies out there we are licensed and insured. However, we are also:

  • Local, with technicians living all over Southern Ontario, it is very likely that you will be paired with a technician that lives in your community
  • We are a small, family-run business which means that each and every one of our customers matter to us long after the sale is completed
  • No-pressure sales guarantee
  • Free home evaluations, free water testing for water purification

Equipment

Should I rent or buy equipment?
In short, both are great options! When you purchase equipment from LG, it means you will have no ongoing contracts and will benefit from both LG and manufacturer warranties. When you rent equipment from LG you will have the benefit of low, up-front costs and no hassles when it comes to repair and maintenance of the equipment.
What brand of equipment is best?
There is no right answer to this. Our professional sales and technical teams will work together to give you options that are best for your unique home and budgetary needs.

Water Purification

What type of water purification do I need?
In order to properly identify what type of water purification system would be best suited to your home, a water test needs to be completed. This is a quick test that will tell us the hardness level of your water as well as the amount of iron and chlorine in your water. Using these results, our team can give you a variety of options dependent on your water purification budget. Allow the LG team to test your water, free of charge, and design a water purification system that gives you the best water possible.
What is a reverse Osmosis system?
A reverse osmosis (RO), is an “at the faucet” water filtration system that removes contaminates from unfiltered water using a series of filters. These contaminates include salt, arsenic, sediments and chlorine. A RO will only filter the water at the faucet it is connected to which is why they are usually installed at your kitchen sink as it is the main source of drinking water in your home.

Water Heaters

What are the benefits of a tankless water heater?
  • Hot water on demand- no more running out of hot water as the whole family tries to shower in the mornings!
  • Space saving- tankless units are wall hung and slim
How do you know it's time for a new water heater?
  • When you start to notice discolouration in the water- this is caused by the inside of the storage tank rusting
  • If you hear unusual or rumbling noises when the water heater is running
  • If you notice any leakages coming from the storage tank

Furnace/Air Conditioner (AC)

Why should I replace my furnace and/or AC?
Replacing your system can be a large undertaking, however if your system is 10 years old or more, a new system will be much more efficient as the technology has increased greatly in the last few years. This increase in efficiency will net a savings over the long-term both in decreased maintenance costs and lower energy bills.
When should I replace my furnace and/or AC?

You could wait until your furnace or AC stops working, however more than likely this will happen on the day you need it the most!

Your furnace should be replaced when you are starting to notice the following:

  • The pilot goes out frequently
  • Ignition is delayed
  • There is too much or too little heat
  • Distinct smell of natural gas

Your AC should be replaced when:

  • It is over 10 years old
  • You require frequent top ups of refrigerant
  • Air flow is weak
  • You hear strange noises

When it is time to replace your furnace, AC or both – you don’t want to feel rushed into doing it. At LG Home Comfort our home evaluations are always free, which means you can get the information you need without any pressure!

What is the most important factor to consider when replacing a furnace?
When it comes to furnaces, size is everything. This does not mean that bigger is better or smaller is cheaper. In order to maximize your homes’ comfort and the efficiency of your furnace, it needs to be properly sized to your home. A furnace that is too big will heat the house too quickly and turn off and then the temperature will fall. This is extremely inefficient and uses large amounts of energy. A furnace that is too small will not be able to keep your house at the desired temperature and will work too hard trying to do so.

Our licensed and professionally trained sales and technician teams will provide you with the size option that will be best suited for your homes’ size and heating needs.
